I have been interested in these practices since early in my military career. This was my attempt to learn to deal with stress mainly. Then, by 2011, a deployment to Afghanistan rocked my world, and life became tough to deal with. I shut down as a human and tried to fake my wellness throughout life. Inpatient stays at the VA (Veteran Affairs) were commonplace for me. A lot has happened since then, life as you would say. My trip in 2015 to Rishikesh, India, to get my 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training was impactful. I learned a lot about myself and saw yoga's and meditation's benefits on the body and mind. As a direct result, I became much slower in my actions to avoid making a mistake in haste. This doesn’t mean problems don’t arise; they do, every day, for that matter. I still struggle with my mental health, which we all know is a lifetime of work and dedication. Yet, all moments can be seen as opportunities to grow if appropriately trained in the proper practices. Moreover, these practices are genuinely used to know the real you and how you interact with the world around you.

Through these practices, I could finally live without complete isolation. But this is a struggle I will accept for the rest of my life. There is NO cure for any problem, but we must live alongside them and thrive the best we can. The body is a system; it needs good food, physicality, even better rest, stimulating thought, and, most importantly, these contemplative practices. If these things are provided, only great things are to come! We can only hope that we will reach our ability to live through these practices.

If you are considering starting any of these practices, ask your doctor, and if given the ok, message us to begin the journey of healing.

*Pain is a part of life, but suffering is optional. When we aren’t taught this early, we develop a poor relationship with emotional and physical pain. This is where suffering comes in. Herein is an attempt to regulate suffering and its byproducts with our devotional practices.

WE ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MENTAL HEALTH CARE. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO COMBINE MENTAL HEALTH CARE AND THESE PRACTICES FOR THE GREATEST ABILITY TO KNOW YOURSELF.
